12 weeks... 3 months... how did this happen so quickly?! As I prepare to head back to work, this momma's heart is having a hard time adjusting to this. Not sure why it is so much harder, but it is and it sucks. But thankfully Leah joins daycare at Ms. Becky's where Noah is and I know he will watch over her.
The one big change is that I am going back to work on a day shift schedule so that means I am really gone all day. When I was on nights I would still see the kids and be able to nurse Leah. But now that I'll be gone 6:45am-8:15/8:30pm that will be a bit more difficult. We will see how things really work when we really get into the routine. I am sure I can nurse her to sleep, but it will all depend on how she feeds during the day and how quickly I can get home from work.
Things continue to be an adjustment with Leah as she has been the hardest of the 3 kids for us. Towards the end of January we began the transition of moving her into her crib upstairs for naps and bedtime and out of the rock and play in our bedroom. It has not be an easy change, but we are sticking with it and making it work. Leah seems to do pretty well during the day for her naps, but the longer stretches at night are a bit more challenging. She typically wakes once to nurse in the night and will go back to sleep with some rocking and usually falling asleep on mommy's chest because she is so dang tired and just falls asleep! It's not uncommon for John to come wake me up in the morning either on the couch or in the rocking chair upstairs because I was just exhausted. These are the moments of parenting where you just do what you gotta do!
Both Hannah and Noah were on a pretty good routine with nursing, naps, and their overall sleep schedule. Leah, she has been on her own schedule by her own terms. It has been much harder to keep her as regimented because we are constantly on the go and she needs to just go with the flow. She takes more cat naps in the car because of that, but it doesn't seem to affect her much.
With Hannah being at school from 8-10:30, I need to make sure Leah is fed by 10am so we can leave and get Hannah without worrying about that. Most of the time John drives Hannah to school in the morning, but on the days that I need to, we have to switch feedings around accordingly. Leah has been very go-with-the-flow because of this, and I am grateful for it.
Our sweet little lady is slowing coming into her own and we love every minute of every day with her! She really is a ray of sunshine for all of us! We love you Leah bea!
