Leah- 1 Month December 2016

I'm 1 month old today :)  It has been an absolutely FAST month and I'm not even sure how that just happened!  It probably doesn't help that we had many visitors come by, family/baby pictures TWICE, Thanksgiving in there, Christmas tree hunting and decorating, and getting Christmas shopping started.  But it has just flown by.

So here are the traditional ONE Month pictures~

                                                                                      One Month Stats:
                                                                               -Height: 21 inches (40%)
                                                                              -Weight: 10 lbs 3 oz (73%)
                                                                      -Head Circumference: 35.9 cm (26%)

We have been blessed with 2 relatively easy kiddos.  Then along came Leah!  She has been our feisty one!  She wants to be held ALL THE TIME.  I mean every second.  When I finally get her settled and asleep, I try to put her down so I can get something, anything done.  And she wakes exactly 1 minute later mad about that.  Don't get me wrong, I love every baby snuggle and every moment of being wanted....BUT I'd like to shower, brush my teeth, breathe! without a little person stuck to me 24/7.

Leah also seems to have a little bit of reflux.  Nothing terrible, but definitely noticeable as she can't always seem to get comfortable.  She has been sleeping in our room downstairs in the rock and play.  Not only does it keep her closer if I hear her start to choke or spit up, but because she can't seem to get herself settled as well, its easier to pick her up when she starts to wake up in hopes she can go right back to sleep.  This is a big change for us as both the other 2 kids slept in their cribs from day 1.  But it is also a little easier to have her next to me so I don't have to climb upstairs to get her.  I am pretty much 100% from the accident and of course delivery, but my upper back and neck are still sore when I get up.  Having her a little bit closer helps a little.

Hannah and Noah have been so good with adjusting to having a little one at home.  Some days are definitely challenging as each kid just doesn't quite understand that their needs aren't going to be met first, but we are slowly getting the hang of things.

Hannah had a rough few weeks going back to preschool and adjusting.  But I think part of her was torn between wanting to be home with her new sister and also wanting to be away having a little bit of fun.  It will continue to be an adjustment for her as each new month arrives.

Noah has been a bit more timid and not as accepting of his new sister.  He does love her and shows his affection, but not as frequently as Hannah does.  He is not as keen on wanting to hold Leah and when he does, we certainly jump at the opportunity.  But I think he is slowing coming around!  It has been harder on him because he is home with us all day and has been for the past year and a half while Hannah is at preschool.  Adjusting to it no longer being him and I will continue to take some time.

Overall, we are doing well.  Adjusting from 2 to 3 kids, but we are finding a balance.  It has been an adventure that's for sure!!

((Also, is it okay for me to be a little bit upset/bummed that our new monthly pictures will be taken at a new spot in our new house?  I mean, its silly, but something about it feels different compared to Hannah and Noah's pictures.))
