On Friday morning I took the kids to play at the park nearby. It was a little wet and misty, but they didn't care.
Friday afternoon we took a drive to check out some 'local' places. We drove to Leland for lunch at Fishtown. We walked along the docks which is lined with fishing shanties that are now shops. We ate a delicious lunch and walked around for a bit. We loaded back into the car and headed north to Northport. We planned to check out the Northport Brewery. We walked around the quaint little town, down by the water, and found our way to the brewery. The beer was good, the atmosphere pretty cool, and enjoyed some play time with another family.
As the sun began to set, it was time to head back south to our final destination for the trip. We stopped at Hop Lot Brewing Company just a few miles north of Traverse City. Now that was a pretty awesome place! There was a huge outdoor seating area with a live band, and plenty of lawn games to play and entertain yourself. The kids loved running around and exploring. We enjoyed a sampler and some dinner, then headed back to the hotel to put some tired kiddos to bed.
Saturday morning we got up and found some breakfast downtown. We ate at a unique little spot called Harvest. We enjoyed some pretty specialty meals, and they were delicious!
The State Theatre was playing Cinderella for $.25 that morning, so we decided to check it out. The place was packed with so many families. Our kids enjoyed the movie and Hannah decided it was amazing! Noah was a bit restlessness for the last half hour or so, but he did good.
After the movies, we took the kids back to catch a quick nap in the hotel. Once they were up, we drove out to visit with Nick, Bobbi, and Penelope in Kingsley, a little bit outside of TC.
We enjoyed a delicious dinner with them and spent some time outside letting the kids play. We are very thankful for their friendship and now our kids can have fun together too ;)
Sunday was our "walking self-brewery tour." Well we figured we'd give it a shot and see how long the kids would last before we drove them crazy!
We walked everywhere! The Workshop, Rare Bird Brewpub, The Filling Station, Right Brain Brewery, back to the Rare Bird, and capping off the night at The Little Fleet for some food truck dinner! The kids were absolutely amazing and had fun walking around with us. Noah even took a nap in the stroller along the way. We had beautiful weather, lots of sun, and a good workout!
What a fun weekend get-away in TC, one of our favorite places to be!
