One Step At A Time

Oh Christmas Tree!

We didn't waste any time getting started on our search for this year's Christmas tree.  We went on black Friday, right as the tree farm was opening up for the day.  It was a cold morning, but not as cold as it could have been.

Hannah was a pretty whiney the whole time.  She had stayed up pretty late on Thanksgiving and didn't sleep past 7:30am, so we knew we were in for an adventure.

The tree farm was pretty empty, in fact there was only one other car in the parking lot when we got there.  It was nice to have the place all to ourselves.  We certainly needed it because the selection of fraser firs was pretty slim.  We were told by one of the men working that the summer was pretty harsh and most of the fraser's didn't grow as well.  Looks like we may have to find a new tree farm for a few years (which is a real shame because I really like where we had been going)

We walked around for about 45 mins searching, and searching.  Nothing looked like our perfect tree.  Finally Hannah had enough, she was crying, and only wanted to be held.  Poor John had to carry Hannah and pull the heavy sled.  I was not a big help as I was hauling around our 36 week baby belly, camera, and trying not to trip over anything.  We decided to call it quits and go find another place, another day to cut down our tree.  Major disappointment...  As we were cutting through the trees, heading back to the barn, there she was!  Our tree, about 20 yards from the barn, so close to our car.. We found it!!  Needless to say, we were glad we found one and were very happy to cut it down and be on our way.

I had to work both Friday and Saturday nights so we completed our decorating on Sunday afternoon.  We lit the fire, put on the Christmas music and had a merry good time!  Hannah loved helping, loved seeing each of the ornaments as we unpacked them, loved hanging them on the tree.  She was a great little helper.

As the afternoon carried on, Hannah came around to the Santa stuffed animals.  She now absolutely loves Santa and Rudolph, those 2 are her buddies.
