With Noah being a few days old, we stayed in for Christmas Eve. Hannah added the last item to our advent calendar, the star on the top. She has been so good this year about remembering to put an item up each day, sometimes wanting to add a few extra. She was definitely proud of her work!
Hannah and John got Santa's plate of cookies and milk ready. Since we
John read us "Twas the Night Before Christmas", our annual tradition. We arranged the camera to catch us in the act!
Hannah had a quick bath and off to bed she went! It was time for Santa to do some work now...
Santa was a good guy to Hannah and us this year! (a little too nice, next year he's getting talked to about keeping it under control)
Christmas morning John and I got up a little earlier to make a fire and make sure everything was ready. I think we were both a tad excited!
waking Hannah up, she was pretty excited when she heard that Santa had visited our house
Hannah's first look at the tree and presents, she wasn't so sure what to make of everything!
She found her Minnie backpack first, Thomas and Percy trains, and Minnie Mouse cup first. Hannah was very reluctant to sit in the Minnie chair, but soon posed for us.
We headed downstairs to the basement to show Hannah what Santa left her there. She was very excited about her kitchen. She checked out all the pots and pans, silver wear, and couldn't wait to wash her hands!
We enjoyed a delicious breakfast made on the griddle (since we still had no power), John said it was *almost like we were camping.
After afternoon naps, we ventured over to the in-laws to have dinner and spend some time together. Dinner was ordered from our favorite local Italian restaurant Cugino's. (due to no power there to do any dinner preparations the past few days) It was delicious as expected!
When dinner was over, we came back home to finish opening the last of the Christmas gifts. Poor Hannah was overwhelmed at this point, we could tell she was unbelievably tired and over the wrapping. But she/we made it! We are all so very thankful for all the gifts and thoughtfulness! What a blessing!
MERRY CHRISTMAS from our home to yours!
Love- John, Dana, Hannah, and Noah
