September Wrap-Up

September was full of excitement.  Hannah's birthday, Noah's first words, Hannah starting swim class, and lots of fun moments and special play dates.

                                 Happy Birthday to you Hannah!

Hannah started picking Noah up and carrying him places, believe it or not - he loves it!  Here is a little glimpse at the smiles

Hannah started taking swim classes.  She LOVES it!  So far she hasn't been too apprehensive and gets right in and going when class starts.  I hope she continues to enjoy it!

Noah is happy waiting for Hannah to finish swimming
Just another day shopping and Hannah finds this hat :)

Special birthday presents, Hannah has loved them all

Started sticking his tongue out and blowing raspberries!

Hannah giving me a puppet show at the Delta Township Library.  (they have the BEST kids area hands-down)

We all had a sleepover at the Vogel's house to watch the MSU vs Wyoming Homecoming football game.  Hannah rode her first bike (not hers!) and Noah crawled around on the cement and cut up his little toes.  But all-in-all, we had tons of fun and enjoyed being around our favorite friends :)  (I'm sure next time they will reconsider the offer)

Those baby blues :)                                                                 My two handsome Men

See you soon October!  One of my favorite fall holiday months :)

Noah 9 Months

9 months old! I can't believe how close we are to being 1 year old already.  We have had a big month, it has been a fun, exciting time watching Noah grow!

                                                                                               9 Month Stats:
                                                                                -Height: 28 1/4 inches (49%)
                                                                                  -Weight: 16 lbs 12 oz (3%)
                                                                          -Head Circumference: 42.5 cm (1%)
                                                                                        -Hemoglobin: 10.7

Noah's 9 month check-up went pretty well.  Of course, once again, we were invited back in one month for another weight check.  It seems that the months we don't see our actual Dr in the pedi practice, they seem to err on the side of caution and have us check-up the following month.  But I don't mind, we have to come back for the flu-shot follow up anyway, so its not out of the way.
Noah's Hgb was a little on the lower side (they like to see >11) but not of great concern to do anything about it yet.  We have been trying to give Noah meats but they aren't the easiest to cut into tiny pieces for him to gum.  But we will add where we can.  Oh I just love the growth charts and percentiles.... We will see how things look next month on our second bonus visit!  yippee!

What you've been up to lately:
You are crawling and into EVERYTHING!!  You are so quick, we can hardly take our eyes off of you!  You are much more nosy than Hannah was and you certainly don't like being told No.

You are enjoying being on your feet much more than your knees.  You are always pulling yourself up and walking along the couch, and you are testing your limits with moving in between objects without holding on.  We are convinced you will be walking soon, that will be a huge game-changer.  You are a brave little boy :)

You said your first word this month, "da da" and you like to babble first thing in the morning when you wake up and after you come home from daycare (on the days you go).  You are such a happy little boy, all the time!  You have a very cuddly demeanor and love to be held, even if it's just to take a little breather while you are on the go.

Noah is doing really well with eating.  He loves all the fruits (what kid doesn't?) and the only veggie you still do not enjoy is squash.  You are eating 1-2 jars of food at each meal and even then seem like you could put back more food.  You are a good little eater!  We have quit giving puffs because Noah seems to have big spit-ups/throw up after he eats them.  Who knows why, but it's just as easy not to give them.  So he has been eating pretzel rods and goldfish instead.  And he loves them too!  This kid seems content with whatever you put in front of him :)

Noah isn't the best sleeper, okay he's pretty terrible.  He will go down very easy, but typically around the 3 hour mark, he wakes up and cannot soothe himself back to sleep on his own.  We have to go in and get him because he is hysterical and screaming/crying.  It is hard to ignore that.  The instant you pick him up he will stop and lay his sweet little tear-faced head right on your shoulder and cuddle up to you.  We spend a fair amount of time rocking him and getting him back to sleep.  Some nights he is up once or twice, and some are 4-5 times.  More times than I'd like to admit, Noah joins us in bed because we are so exhausted to keep getting up and down.  Once he gets into a deeper sleep, we are able to carry him back to his crib and he usually stays asleep until he is up for the day.  It's frustrating, exhausting, and stressful when you don't have a very good sleeper on your hands.  We keep thinking he could be teething, but honestly, who really knows what's going on with them?!!  We just keep doing the best that we know how and hope that something works.

Until next month, we will enjoy the extra snuggles, less sleep, and live for the moments that we are given.

Sister/Brother Love  --  I love the moments when they are playing together nicely.  Look at those smiles :)

Hannah's 3rd Birthday Party

We had Hannah's birthday party the weekend following her big day.  Hannah chose Frozen for her birthday party theme so we did our best to make that happen.  John and I gave some thought to having her party at Grandpa's farm and Hannah seemed happy with the suggestion.  (I know Grandpa was thrilled)

The day was beautiful, sunny, with a light breeze.  It was a perfect celebration!  Frozen colored cupcakes, party hats, and decorations (as best as a non-crafty person can handle)

Grandpa taking the kiddos on a train ride, they were having a blast!

Hannah's own Elsa painting, so beautiful!  (and hand-painted by John's Aunt Bridget's sister!)

      3 Goofball-best friends :)

Even Nicky joined in on the train-ride fun!

We are so thankful for all the family and friends that joined us to help celebrate our special little girl's birthday!  It was so much fun!
