9 months old! I can't believe how close we are to being 1 year old already. We have had a big month, it has been a fun, exciting time watching Noah grow!
9 Month Stats:
-Height: 28 1/4 inches (49%)
-Weight: 16 lbs 12 oz (3%)
-Head Circumference: 42.5 cm (1%)
-Hemoglobin: 10.7
Noah's 9 month check-up went pretty well. Of course, once again, we were invited back in one month for another weight check. It seems that the months we don't see our actual Dr in the pedi practice, they seem to err on the side of caution and have us check-up the following month. But I don't mind, we have to come back for the flu-shot follow up anyway, so its not out of the way.
Noah's Hgb was a little on the lower side (they like to see >11) but not of great concern to do anything about it yet. We have been trying to give Noah meats but they aren't the easiest to cut into tiny pieces for him to gum. But we will add where we can. Oh I just love the growth charts and percentiles.... We will see how things look next month on our second bonus visit! yippee!
What you've been up to lately:
You are crawling and into EVERYTHING!! You are so quick, we can hardly take our eyes off of you! You are much more nosy than Hannah was and you certainly don't like being told No.
You are enjoying being on your feet much more than your knees. You are always pulling yourself up and walking along the couch, and you are testing your limits with moving in between objects without holding on. We are convinced you will be walking soon, that will be a huge game-changer. You are a brave little boy :)
You said your first word this month, "da da" and you like to babble first thing in the morning when you wake up and after you come home from daycare (on the days you go). You are such a happy little boy, all the time! You have a very cuddly demeanor and love to be held, even if it's just to take a little breather while you are on the go.
Noah is doing really well with eating. He loves all the fruits (what kid doesn't?) and the only veggie you still do not enjoy is squash. You are eating 1-2 jars of food at each meal and even then seem like you could put back more food. You are a good little eater! We have quit giving puffs because Noah seems to have big spit-ups/throw up after he eats them. Who knows why, but it's just as easy not to give them. So he has been eating pretzel rods and goldfish instead. And he loves them too! This kid seems content with whatever you put in front of him :)
Noah isn't the best sleeper, okay he's pretty terrible. He will go down very easy, but typically around the 3 hour mark, he wakes up and cannot soothe himself back to sleep on his own. We have to go in and get him because he is hysterical and screaming/crying. It is hard to ignore that. The instant you pick him up he will stop and lay his sweet little tear-faced head right on your shoulder and cuddle up to you. We spend a fair amount of time rocking him and getting him back to sleep. Some nights he is up once or twice, and some are 4-5 times. More times than I'd like to admit, Noah joins us in bed because we are so exhausted to keep getting up and down. Once he gets into a deeper sleep, we are able to carry him back to his crib and he usually stays asleep until he is up for the day. It's frustrating, exhausting, and stressful when you don't have a very good sleeper on your hands. We keep thinking he could be teething, but honestly, who really knows what's going on with them?!! We just keep doing the best that we know how and hope that something works.
Until next month, we will enjoy the extra snuggles, less sleep, and live for the moments that we are given.
Sister/Brother Love -- I love the moments when they are playing together nicely. Look at those smiles :)
