My friend Heather who I worked with at Sparrow, graciously agreed to spend the night at our house and watch Hannah for us. Such a sweetheart for doing this for us! This was the first night that John and I both were away from our kiddo.
We stayed at City Flatts Hotel downtown GR. There were NO hotel rooms left in GR because it was Laugh Fest, which apparently is a big deal. Thankfully my sister-in-law told me about this hotel, because I probably got one of the last rooms left downtown. It was a neat hotel, very modern, swanky, and a great location.
We walked to San Chez a few blocks away to enjoy dinner. It was a tapas-style restaurant, SOOO delicious! We would recommend anyone to eat there, it was such a neat experience. After dinner, we walked to Founders Brewing Company. Founders is one of John's favorite, if not favorite, craft beer. He figured out, as we were driving that this was probably where we were headed, but didn't realize all the other plans I kept secret from him.
We had a good time listening to some folk music, sampling some delicious beer, and enjoying some one-on-one time together. We don't have much alone time together, so it was nice to have a date together. It was a fun night and super nice to sleep in the next morning!

Happy 31st birthday John! You are an amazing father, husband, and best friend. You are my better half, I couldn't imagine anyone but you walking by my side through this journey called life. Here's to many more birthdays together! I love you!
