When we arrived in Detroit, I headed to customer service to be re-booked. Now during all of this, the giant snow storm Nemo was due to hit the entire East Coast. Hannah and I had limited time to get there before the snow storm was due to hit, thus closing airports and all transportation. I talked with the booking agent to switch us to any flight that would get us close to Philly. She was able to put us on a flight into Allentown at 2pm, instead of waiting to leave for Harrisburg (our original destination) at 3:30pm. She couldn't put us on any flights into Philly because they had all been cancelled for the rest of the day...Don't panic yet Dana... So we would walk around Detroit airport for the next 4 hours until we could hopefully leave.

Hannah being such a good girl waiting in Detroit (during nap time, no nap time I might add)
We finally took off from Detroit for Allentown around 4pm. We arrived safe and sound around 6pm. My brother Derek had driven the hour and a half to pick us up. Hannah and I stood at baggage claim waiting for our suitcase, and waiting.... and waiting..... until there were no more bags left from any of the flights that had arrived. Don't panic yet Dana.... No clothes for Hannah or myself, no diapers, no camera, no shoes, NO WINTER COATS! So we walked to find some help at the Delta counter. Apparently my suitcase was in Detroit still. And no flights were due to come into Philly or Allentown at all on Saturday, we would be without bags until at least Sunday. What can we do!? Thankfully family and friends came to the rescue and we could borrow the things we needed until our things arrived.

We stayed with Derek and Kate on Friday night and they were able to enjoy some fun Hannah time. She certainly had a great time being a goofball.
On Saturday morning, I had one of my best friends bridal shower to attend. (No dress, no shoes, no makeup, NOTHING!) Thankfully (again) friends came to the rescue and provided me with everything I needed.
It was an absolutely beautiful shower, I would have done anything to be here for Laura, no matter what! And I was clearly being tested on how much I could handle. Everything was wonderful, the food incredible, the gifts plentiful, drinks flowing and yummy, and all of the guests had a great time. It is gonna be one heck of a wedding celebration. I am so thankful to have such an amazing person, best friend since 7th grade, a part of my life. I cannot wait to stand by you and watch you marry your best friend in June.

On Saturday night, we were able to help Ms Lola Shirley celebrate her 2nd birthday! It was such a fun place and catered to the smaller kiddos really well. Hannah had a blast jumping in the bouncy house and sliding down the slide as well.

It was a fun party, all of the kids looked like they were having a good time. We ate pizza, sang happy birthday, devoured some delicious cake, and made our way to play some games.

On Saturday night, I had the chance to meet up with all of my high school girlfriends. Rarely are we all together, in the same weekend, on the same nights, so whenever we can, we try to spend time together.
What a great time with a great group of ladies!

(I apologize for the bad quality pic, its from a cell phone)
Jenn and I walked down to another bar to meet up with Laura.

No matter where we are, no matter how long we go without seeing each other, we still know each other just as well as we did back in 7th grade. Such a special friendship, one that will never end.

dancing the night away!
Sunday morning my nephew Dylan had a basketball game close by that we were able to go watch. Once again, picture quality not so great because its a cell phone. (I only got 2 pics before my phone died)

So proud to watch Dylan and see the talented basketball player he has become. He is such a good young man, I can't wait to see all that he will do! Love this kid to the moon and back :)
After Dylan's game, we headed over to Derek and Kate's for dinner. (Still no sign of my suitcase at this point, just in case you were wondering) We were able to do our nieces and nephews Christmas gift exchange. My family was so nice to wait for Hannah to come in and do this, although my sister Amy and her 3 kiddos were sick the whole weekend and couldn't be there. Next year we'll have to try a webcast or something.

(Hannah eating up a cheesesteak! That's my girl!)
Suitcase update!! My suitcase finally arrived Sunday night at 10pm. My brother brought my suitcase to my parents on Monday morning, just in time to take a shower, put some new clothes on, and leave for the airport Monday at noon. Thankfully Delta was so kind to make me pay a baggage fee on the way back home, $60 to not have any belongings the whole trip sounds like a fair deal to me?!
All in all, it was a great time. I would deal with any flight delays, missing suitcase, whatever it may be, just to spend any time with my family. Hannah loves seeing her cousins, I love seeing my nieces and nephews, brothers and sisters, and parents even if its for a few days. (No delays, missed connections, or missing suitcase on the return trip, of course!)
Until next time!
