11 weeks

On Friday the 11th I reach the official 12 week mark. I think that it's so strange the way they do the gestational age vs. actual age in weeks. John and I had a little disagreement about what our actual "week" number was. Needless to say, I won at our appointment today with the OB.

Here is some of the Ultrasound pictures from our appointment. This was our first look at the little peanut :) What a wonderful experience!! I asked John before the Dr came in if he was going to cry... he's such an emotional guy, but he held it together. (And so did I) Today is also John's birthday, what a great birthday gift for him (or so I think)

Baby LaMacchia is laying face-down in this picture (Above). We have a great shot of the spine, alien head, 2 arm buds, and 2 legs! Technology is so amazing! She kept trying to catch of shot of the little peanut with its legs crossed, too cute! But the little nugget was being squirmy.

This picture you could see where the heart is located. Hard to tell in this blurry image above, but there is a darker spot in the middle of the back area.

We got a few other pictures but because I had to take a picture of a picture with my cell phone, they aren't the clearest. These two turned out the best.

Week 11 Stats:

-Length: 1.6 inches

-Weight: 0.25 oz (7g)

-Major milestones: Our wee baby is now the size of a plum! The little peanut is exploring its face and mouth. It's also working on its swallow reflex and beginning to acquire its sense of smell. Simply amazing!
