April Wrap-up

April sunshine... brings May flowers?  or rain?  I'm confused... but either way, we had a pretty beautiful April!

The Sunday we came home from Florida, Hannah broke her leg.
It was a very long almost 5 weeks with a soft, then hard cast on her leg.

Ms Diana brought WAY too many gifts over for Hannah to help occupy her time while she has to be non-weight bearing and sit still!
We love you and are so very thankful for your generosity.

Hannah picked out a bright, purple cast at her Ortho visit.  She was so brave, sat so still, and did wonderful during the casting.
What a trooper!

Play date in this beautiful weather!  Wagon rides all around!

The official signing of the cast!  Such proud, best friends a girl could ask for.

Thank goodness Hannah broke her left leg, or else she wouldn't be able to drive her jeep around the yard.
Noah enjoys riding shotgun  :)

Mommy snuggles! These are truly the best :)

Hannah rarely falls asleep anywhere other than her bed.  But with her leg out of commission, anything is fair game.
Caught her snoozing on the couch.

This little guy!  He's gonna be a troublemaker, daredevil!

"Umm Mama, what is this white, fluffy stuff doing in April?"
Yep, I knew we couldn't escape April without one, last snowfall.

Its getting harder and harder to get these two together long enough to take a still picture.  But I'll keep on trying!

(and thanks to Hannah for trying to catch this guy with Mama)

Gooodbye April. we can't wait to get Hannah's cast off and begin to enjoy our summer!

Spring Break in the Florida sunshine!

We had an AWESOME Spring Break in Florida this year!  We joined the Gemalsky family in sunny, New Port Richey where we rented a house together for the week.  They stayed there last year with family and invited us along this year.  The house was perfect for all of our kids and our two families.  And with the pool attached and covered on the lower level, the kids couldn't get in enough swimming during their waking hours.  We left feeling refreshed, relaxed, and sun-kissed!  It was the perfect vacation and we are already talking about next year :)

We rented a mini-van, (that came with a DVD player-- life saver!) and drove straight through there and again back home.  The kids did remarkably well for both legs of the trip, and we were thankful for that!  We left on Friday and made it there in a little less than 19 hours, complete with 3 stops.  The drive home took a little longer (about 24 hours, 4 stops included) but drove more during the day and hit a fair amount more traffic.  But all in all, it wasn't a terrible drive.

Some highlights of our trip (even though I didn't keep my phone or camera nearby for most of the week)

Saturday morning we arrived to NewPort Richey and headed straight to the local beach.  We couldn't check into the house yet, so we hit up the beach instead!

Sunday was Easter so we headed to church as the Easter bunny made a special visit to our Florida house.

Swimming fun!

Movie time, relaxing as the day unwinds.

We took a trip to Clearwater for the afternoon.  Grabbed a little bite to eat while sitting alongside the ocean, then walked around for a bit.  It was HOT!

We went out to eat at a restaurant and sat outside on the cove.  The kids got a kick out of the birds flying all around.  The food was delicious and we all had a good time.

On our last day, we headed to the private beach we had access too.  Hannah wasn't thrilled about the ocean water, or the sand, or the beach in general..(whose kid is she?) but Noah seemed to enjoy it all.

Night time snuggles with Owen, these two are pretty cute :)

AHHH... this is the life!

Thanks for the fun memories Gemalsky's!  We will miss you Florida!
