12 Months

1 year old!  I cannot believe we have a one year old already, what a unbelievably fast year it has been.  It was one year ago, after a short 5 hours of labor that we welcomed you into this world.  I remember looking at you for the first time and being amazed at how beautiful you were.  It was instantly love at first sight.  We were so unbelievably happy and from that point on, our lives have been changed forever.  I'm so glad that I started this blog because it has been so fun to look back over the past year and see how much Hannah has blessed our lives.  I can't believe how much our lives have changed, how much joy Hannah brings to us.  We are a family, our own little family!

Here are the last of our milestone pictures!

12 Month Stats:
-Height: 29.25 inches (51%)
-Weight: 18lbs 1oz (6%)
-Head circumference: 44.8cm (39%)

Over the past month you have been keeping us so busy!

You have finally started walking on your own.  It didn't take you long to figure out how to walk without your toy.  Now that you are able to stand up on your own, you are a walking machine!  You are everywhere, in every room, getting into anything your little hands can pick up.  It's so cute to see your little head bobbing around the table as you play.  We can't believe how fast you are, how good your balance is, how well you can move around.

You are an eating machine!!  You have not turned down anything that we put in front of you.  You've been trying a lot of new food lately and doing very well.  You were struggling with the choking episodes but those seem to be far and few in between.  Some of the new foods you've liked:  blueberry pancakes, grilled cheese, raspberries, bananas, mandarin oranges, pasta, chicken, pork chops, carrots, animal crackers, and pretzels.

You have 7 teeth now.  4 on the top, 3 on the bottom.  It looks like your 4th tooth on the bottom is about to come through too.

Things you love playing with:  your baby dolls, teddy bear, kitchen set, picnic basket, moo cow (moo moo), your books, pink purse, butterfly tunnel, and blocks.  You don't sit still very long, keeping us on the move with you.  But its so fun to watch you interact with everything, you are a very smart little lady.

So much to look forward to as you continue to grow.  We love you so much baby girl!  Happy Birthday Hannah!!

Happy 1st Birthday!!

Today is our sweet baby girl's FIRST birthday!  And what a perfect day it was!  The weather was beautiful, the sun was shining, we were joined by family and friends to help us celebrate.  We invited everyone over for lunch followed by the fun part, watching Hannah eat her cake :)

It was nice to see Hannah have so much fun.  She didn't seem too interested in opening her gifts, but she did get a kick out of her new toys and books once they were opened.  When I carried the cake out to her, her interested certainly perked up!  She reached toward the cake, wanting to put her little fingers in the icing.  It was fun watching her eat cake again, she was still just as hesitant as the first time, but once she tasted the sweet goodness, she was quick to smash it into her mouth as fast as she could!

What a fun day!  Thank you to everyone who came to help us celebrate!  We will certainly remember this day forever!

1st Tailgate, MSU vs Notre Dame

This years MSU vs Notre Dame game was at 8 pm, giving us a chance to check out our first tailgate with Hannah.  It was a beautiful September day, perfect to be outside with great friends!!  We headed to MSU Children's Gardens to tailgate with the Simpsons.  It was so nice of them to have us and be able to spend time with them.  Jennifer and Brady and Lauren and Sean had both flown in to come for this game, it was so nice to hang out and relax together.  I love seeing all 4 of these people and wish we could see them more often.  But nonetheless, any time we can spend together is always a good time.  We're so thankful for such wonderful friends!!

I'm a walker now!!

Here is our big girl walking!  She's finally got it on her own without the help of her walker toy.  We are certainly in for it now.

Just shy of your first birthday, you've figured it out!

Labor Day

I had to work Saturday and Sunday nights, so we spent our Labor Day relaxing and having a pretty low key day.

I slept for a few hours in the morning once I got home.  It was a beautiful sunny day so we decided to make the best of it.  We walked around Michigan State campus for a couple hours, taking in all the beautiful sights along the Red Cedar.  Both John and I realized we don't get out to campus quite nearly enough to enjoy all that MSU has to offer.  It truly is an amazing campus.

We took in a little snack at Cosi on Grand River and admired all of the expensive MSU gear in the shops.  We finished off the day by coming home and playing with our beautiful kiddo.  Not too bad for Labor Day.
