Weekend at the Lake

We spent a night at John's parents cottage on Morrison Lake (about 45 minutes away from Lansing) and enjoyed a sun-filled weekend of fun.  Hannah took her first pontoon boat ride, played in her pool, and visited with her grandparents, aunt, and uncle.  We had a nice trip, lots of sunshine, lots of fun!

      

                                                   

     

  
                                                                        
  
  

  

Trip to PA-June 2012

Hannah and I took a trip to visit my family in PA.  We flew from Lansing to Detroit, then Detroit to Harrisburg.  Maybe one of these times we fly, we won't have any problems.  We were delayed in Lansing for 2 hours due to rain storms in Detroit.  Once we finally got to Detroit, we had missed our connecting flight and were on the 11pm flight to Harrisburg, YIKES!!  Thank goodness Hannah is such a cutie, she smiled and played enough with the very kind Delta representative who placed on Standby for the 7pm flight, and reserved seats for the 11pm flight.  (She said they weren't allowed to put you on 2 flights but because of traveling with a small child, she felt bad for us)  Thankfully we were able to make it on the standby flight and arrived in Harrisburg around 9pm.  After a fun drive home with Pam, Dylan, and Bryn, we settled into my parents house for the rest of the trip.  We spent an evening at Dylan's baseball game, spent a few days playing with all the kiddos together at Amy's house, and were able to visit with both grandparents.  Hannah and I were also able to have breakfast with Wendy, Davis, and Delaney one morning.  Hannah and Davis had a fun time sharing Davis' toys.

What a fun trip, its always so hard saying goodbye to your family, but thankfully we have a strong enough bond to make it work.  Until our next trip... some pictures to enjoy :)

Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to the best daddy, husband, and best friend in the whole world!!!   Unfortunately we didn't get to spend the day together at all (John was at a basketball tourney all day and once he got home, I left to go work), but the whole 30 mins we had together was all about you.

You are an amazing husband, I don't know what I would do without you.  You are more than a wonderful husband and father, you are my best friend.  Not a day goes by that I don't stop and think about how lucky I am to have you for my husband.  I've always known I could depend on your support, your strength, and understanding.  I love you so much!!

9 Months

Today you are 9 months old, sweet baby girl!  It still seems like yesterday when we brought you home from the hospital and you were so tiny.  I try to remind myself everyday to take it all in because time is truly flying by.  You are growing into such a precious little lady, I am completely in love with everything you do.  Who  needs a tv or internet, when I've got you to look at every single day.  I just love sitting and watching you play.  The expressions you have, the silly faces you make, and cute noises you come out with are just adorable!  You really are such a blessing to your daddy and I, we are smitten!

What you've been up to lately:
You are crawling and on the go EVERYWHERE!  You are getting so fast now.  I can't turn my back on you for too long before you're gone, off exploring something new.

You are becoming more brave and pulling yourself up onto EVERYTHING!  The couches, the kitchen table and chairs, the fridge, all the cabinets in the kitchen, the bathtub, the toilet, EVERYTHING you can get your little hands on, you're finding a way to stand up.

You are starting to walk along the couch now.  We introduced you to a walk behind toy, you are catching on  so quickly.  You seem to steer left pretty frequently, I'm sure you'll figure it out soon.

You have really started babbling a lot more.  I noticed you like to really babble after you've woken up and been awake for about 30mins, you must need to "warm up" a little bit.  You are saying 'mama', 'dada', 'baba', 'puffs', and 'baby' now.

A new fun game you have begun is standing up in your bed and pulling/playing with your stuffed animals sitting on the table next to your crib.  You figured out how to reach over and grab them.  You've also been reaching for your monitor and have grabbed it a few times now.  I love waking up to that loud tapping as you smack the monitor against the crib :)  You are getting really good at finding your paci when you wake up and are still a little sleepy.  You crawl around until you find it, put it back in your mouth, make some cute whiney sounds, and fall back asleep pretty easily.

You were sick for the very first time when you had your 1st cold and trip to the doctor for a sick check-up.  I wasn't surprised you caught a little bug because you just started at a new daycare, but you still remained happy and smiley despite not feeling 100%.  We've learned that you HATE having your nose suctioned out, but I can't blame you there kiddo!

You just love eating your puffs!  As soon as you hear us shaking the container, you start saying "puffs".  Its so stinkin cute!  You can't seem to stuff them in your mouth fast enough.  So far you've had sweet potato, banana, blueberry, and apple cinnamon puffs, you don't seem to have a favorite either.

You swam in your first outdoor pool today and boy was it cold!  You definitely love the water, you had a great time splashing around with Sarah and Anthony.

You are about to go on your second plane ride to visit your family in PA.  I am soooooo looking forward to family time, to be surrounded by those who love me unconditionally, no questions asked.  I am really needing my family now, so this trip will be so wonderful!  I'm excited for Hannah to be around family who will spoil her and play with her nonstop.

You are getting so big baby girl!! I can't believe how much love we have for you, its unreal how special you are to your momma and dada.  You are such a blessing, we are the luckiest parents in the whole world!

Swimmy Class

    






Hannah and I started a mommy and me swimming class at our local YMCA called 'Skip'.  Its a 30 minute class that meets once a week.  There are 4-5 kids in the class so it is pretty small and intimate.

Hannah LOVES the water.  She squeals, splashing, and kicks all around the pool.  She also has a soft spot for one of the lifeguards, every time she walks by Hannah points at her, smiles, and starts squealing.  We are having a great time doing this together.  John and I are so glad she enjoys the water so much.






















We've also been visiting John's cousin Anthony and girlfriend Sarah's pool at their apartment a few minutes down the road.  Both Sarah and Anthony, "Phur", are so good with Hannah.  They take turns playing with her in the water and swimming her around.  I'm so thankful that they enjoy her so much :)
