My first food!

The time has finally come for Hannah to taste her first veggie!  Since Hannah has been successfully eating rice cereal both in the morning and evening we decided she was ready to add a veggie to her evening solid.  We bought sweet peas, green beans, squash, carrots, and sweet potatoes to start off.  We decided to randomly pick and GREEN BEANS won the challenge.

For the first two bites of rice cereal we got this face... she's thinking "What do you have up your sleeve mom?"

Then came time for the green beans... "seriously, what do you have right there?"

 First bite...

I guess this stuff isn't too bad after all!

7 months

Happy 7 months to my sweet baby girl!!
quick shot of me "standing"
What an exciting month it has been!  Hannah has been rolling all over the place to move around.  You look over at her one moment, and in 5 seconds she's across the room.  Gotta keep a close eye on this little stinker butt!

Hannah has also been getting up on her hands and knees and rocking back and forth.  I'm pretty sure we'll have a crawler very soon!  She wants to move so bad but hasn't figured out how to coordinate moving her arms and legs together at the same time.  Its rather comical to watch as she gets so frustrated.  While I can't wait for her to be active, at the same time I hate to see her growing up so fast.

Hannah has been practicing with those vocal cords.  She loves to squeal and screech.  She hasn't started with the la la's or ga ga's yet, but can certainly screech with the best of them!  Her way of communicating with us suits me just fine.  We'll give a little grunt to her, and she comes right back with her own little grunt and of course a smile.  She is too funny.

Along with the rolling around while playing on the floor has come the rolling over in bed.  At first, Hannah didn't seem to like when she rolled to her belly in bed, she would instantly SCREAM!  We'd quick run in, flip her over to her back, and within minutes she'd be right back over to her belly yelling again.  After a few times of flipping her back over, we let her figure it out on her own.  It didn't take long for her to discover she could just fall asleep that way.  I caught her sleeping and snuggling with her giraffe blankie!

Hannah loves playing with her stackable blocks.  I don't know what kid doesn't enjoy knocking over the blocks after they have been stacked up.  She will wait patiently until the blocks are in a tower then she laughs as they fall down.  I love hearing that little giggle, just melts my heart!

Here are my monthly pictures sitting and standing!  I'm getting so big!  No pedi appointment until 9 months, so no stats to report.

Springsteen Concert

If you know John, then you know one of his favorite musicians of all time is Bruce Springsteen.  Bruce announced that he was going on tour with his new album earlier this year and it just so happened that he was playing a date at the Palace, right here in MI!  We jumped at purchasing tickets the minute (literally) that they went on sale.

This was the first "event/thing" that we've done where we weren't 10 minutes down the road from Hannah.  John's parents watched her and put her to bed for us so we could enjoy this concert.  It was definitely a stressful start to the night for me, as we had just dropped my parents off at the airport and then took Hannah to his parents house.  But we survived and had a great time.

We arrived early and did a little tailgating in the parking lot with John's uncle-Steve, wife Chris, and some of their friends.  Over a few drinks, snacks, burgers and hotdogs, we spent some time relaxing before the start.
As I went inside the Palace to attempt to pump so I wouldn't have to bring my pump in later, John was going to walk around and try to sell the extra tickets we had.  Low and behold, John met Bruce!!  He walked towards a group of people he saw, and not even 2 minutes later Bruce arrived and walked over to sign some autographs.  John was only holding onto the tickets we were trying to sell, and didn't want to have those signed, so he opted for a photo instead.  I missed it all, of course!

It was a great concert, this man really rocks it out!  He played for 2 and a half hours non-stop!  He is sure one heck of a performer.  This was my 4th show and I'm sure there will be more.

2nd tooth

Today my SECOND tooth poked through!  Hannah has been taking her tongue and rubbing it along her bottom gums a lot lately, so I knew it was only a matter of time before the next tooth would arrive.

I'm trying my hardest to sneak a picture of the teeth, but its almost impossible to get Hannah to stay still, let alone, stay still and have her mouth open to catch a picture.  We'll keep on trying :)

We've also started making raspberries with our mouth.  Hannah thinks its hilarious and of course, gotta love all the drool!  Here's our baby girl!!

Easter Sunday

Hannah's first Easter was a wonderful day.  We started off the morning with a trip to church.  It was a great service and Hannah was on her best behavior :)  She wore a pretty dress and allowed a pink headband to stay on her head as well.

Once we got home, John started making our delicious dinner.  Jamie, Jordan, Chase, and Mrs. Bewley came to spend the day with us and share in our dinner festivities.  We had ham, pineapple stuffing, broccoli, sweet potatoes, red beets/red beet eggs, and rolls.  Everything turned out great, John did an awesome job!  (and had a pretty sweet assistant too!)

We had a great day together laughing and reminiscing old times.  Its so much fun having kids around the same age to grow up together.  What special friends we have!  We have so much to look forward to as Chase and Hannah get older.

Parents visit for Easter

We were so lucky to have my parents come out and spend Easter with us this year.  We have been counting down the days til their visit since we left PA back in March.  I had to work on Wednesday night when my parents flew into Lansing, but John was able to pick them up from the airport.  Wednesday night at work couldn't go by fast enough!

As always, the time of their visit FLEW by, but by some unexpected circumstances, we were able to keep Mom and Dad out here for an extra 4 days!  We certainly made the most of our time together.  I love watching my parents interact with Hannah, you can sure see how much they love and miss her.  It's so fun to see them both get down on the floor and play with her, rolling around, and seeing how happy she responds.  We rarely had a dull moment!

Here are some pictures of their visit.  We love you and can't wait to see you both again soon!
