Visit with Chase

Jamie, Jordan, and Chase visit!

Jamie and I were gymnastics teammates together at Berks for, oh geez, 10 years maybe.  She graduated high school the year before me and took a full scholarship to Eastern Michigan where she competed.  The following year I graduated and headed to MSU for my gymnastics scholarship.  We saw each other a few times at meets over the years during our college days.

The wonderful world of facebook started to become bigger and brought us back in touch.  Jamie and I ended up going back to nursing school together and took our first jobs on the same floor at Sparrow Hospital as well.

It has been so nice having Jamie live so close. (1 hour away in Pinckney)  We have been able to do a lot together and now becoming mommies and being able to spend time with our children, is that much more meaningful.  Thanks for being my MI family :)  Love you guys!

(if anyone could tell/help me figure out how to flip these that would be great.  They weren't this way on my camera, just flipped when I loaded them onto my blog)

1st tooth

We have our first tooth sighting!  Hannah's 1st tooth poked through, her front bottom right one.

She has been a drooling machine since 4 months and because of that everyone kept saying, "she's teething".  We always said 'sure', as we never saw anything surface yet.  So finally almost 3 months later, I felt the first little 'spike' poking through.  We watched (and felt) her mouth for the next few days anxiously waiting for the tooth to erupt.  Hannah didn't seem phased by the tooth either.  We noticed she seemed to play with her tongue a little bit more, rubbing it over her lower gums.  She never spiked a fever, didn't wake up at night, didn't act fussy/crying/upset at all.

I wish it was easier to capture an up-close picture of Hannah's mouth, but I've got photos where I tried to catch the tooth.

Rice Cereal

Rice cereal was a success!! Hannah took a little prodding to get her to open up and taste the cereal at first, but once she tried it, she wanted more!  She ate about 2 tbsp for her first time.  The whole ordeal wasn't too messy either.  John fed her so I could take pictures and be "that mom"..haha!

Smiley, happy baby after eating her first cereal!

6 months

Half a year has gone by already, where does the time go!

6 Month Stats:
-Height: 26 inches (56%)
-Weight: 15 lbs. 3 oz (31%)
-Head Circumference: 42.3cm (43%)

We truly have an active little lady on our hands.  She happily switches from activity to activity, just pay close attention to this one, we are a rolling machine!  Since figuring out how to roll from her back to her belly, she can't be stopped.  Now we are rolling EVERYWHERE!  I'll turn my back for just a minute and Hannah is all the way across the room.

We got a new 'toy' this month, a bouncy seat.  Hannah first tried this out during our visit to PA.  My sister Amy has one and Hannah seemed to love it.  Once we got home, we pleaded with daddy to get one, of course he caved in, and here we are!  Hannah loves this thing, she is too funny.  She gets bouncing and laughing.  Its so cute seeing her little legs moving underneath it.

We've also loved playing peek-a-boo.  When you're hiding behind your hands, or blanket, or below where she can't see you, her face is too cute.  She looks very concerned, she can hear you but not being able to see confuses her.  Once you pop out, the huge grin on her face is adorable!  She giggles and reaches for your face :)  I love it!  One of my favorite things to play with her.

We continue to have a great eat/nap/sleep schedule going on.  Hannah is very predictable, its actually quite wonderful.  She takes 3 naps a day still, although her late afternoon nap is starting to get shorter.  I'm toying with the idea of taking that out and merging her 2 afternoon naps into one.  Hannah is asleep in bed by 8:30pm every night.  She sleeps rather soundly until 7:30-8am everyday.  She is certainly a great sleeper!  We are very happy about that.

We plan to start Rice cereal here soon, I can't wait to see how she will react to a new flavor.

Hannah's first plane ride/Our trip to PA

Hannah and I took a little trip back to PA to visit my family and spend some much needed time with them for 6 days!

This was Hannah's first plane ride and our first time traveling by ourselves, just Hannah and I.  She did wonderful!  Slept on the short flight from Lansing to Detroit, then slept and played on the second segment from Detroit to Harrisburg.  We were so lucky to have help from random people along the way, the sheer generosity of people truly amazed me.  From the flight attendants to the other paying customers, everyone was so willing to lend a hand to help.  On the Lansing flight, the flight attendant held Hannah while I stepped off the plane to set up my stroller.  I turned around and she had Hannah sitting on the pilot's lap in the cockpit, she was busy laughing and waving her arms around in amazement.  We were lucky enough to have the same crew, same plane, and same gate to de-plane and reboard at, so very helpful!  On the second flight, the pilot brought Hannah back some Delta wings and complimented us on her doing so well :)

It was so nice to be able to make the trip to PA, so very nice to be home surrounded by our family and friends.  The trips always go by way too fast and every time its harder to say goodbye.  But we find a way to make the best of it.

Here are a few pictures from the trip, I have over 200 so its hard to narrow them down.  Check out more on our shutterfly picture site!
