Moving machine!

For the past week or so, this wee one has been moving ALL the time!! At first, I wasn't feeling any movement. I thought I might have felt the first flutterings when we were in Vegas, but I think that was a false alarm.

Lately though, our little babe is a moving machine! Baby seems to just have a mind and plan of its own. Sometimes I feel moving when I'm sitting on the couch during the day, sometimes I feel it when I'm working at night, and of course, its always unpredictable when I'm trying to sleep (during the day or night). But its such an amazing feeling! I love knowing our baby is moving around in there and hopefully enjoying its self! I can't wait for John to be able to feel the baby moving.

On Friday, John and I had the pleasure of having a date night! We went out to eat at Troppo to start off the night- great food! Then we headed to East Lansing to watch Chicago (the musical) at the Wharton Center. I remember seeing Chicago advertised before Thanksgiving last year and told John he could buy me some tickets for my birthday or Christmas. Well that didn't end up happening. So a few weeks before the show, MSUFCU (our bank) sent me an email with some preferred seating options and discounted ticket prices, and I couldn't refuse the deal! We had GREAT seats! 3rd row and stage right- it was perfect! The show was amazing! So much better than the movie of course. I even think John may have enjoyed himself... I still can't tell. It was nice to spend the evening together for a little date :) We've gotta take advantage of these moments before our little baby comes along.

20 Weeks - Halfway there!

Monday May 2, we made our way to the first doctor's office to have our all-important 20 week ultrasound performed. We were both nervous and excited for this day! I was more nervous (as I always seem to be when we get close to our appointments) because I'm anxious to hear the heartbeat and have the reassurance that everything is going alright.

Here are the pictures from the Ultrasound. I am still in awe of how amazing technology is and how it allows us to see the baby in such detail. So far baby L is doing great in there. Baby is measuring roughly 5 days larger than our predicted conception date, but not bad tracking on my part! On the day of the appointment we were 19 weeks 4 days and the US measured at 20 weeks 2 days.

I love the leg picture :)

Thats a nice looking arm there. Baby L kept putting its hand up to the face for every image captured.

20 Week Belly Shot

Its funny seeing belly pictures of myself because it feels like it would look so differently. (get me?) When I look down I feel like other people are seeing the same thing, its just strange. And my pregnant brain is just spouting off some nonsense.

20 Week Stats:
-Length: 10.5 inches from head to heel (6.5 inches from head to bottom)
-Weight: 10.5 oz (300g)
-Major Milestones: Baby L is about as big as a banana this week. Baby's tiny bones are toughening up, its finger and toe pads are finishing up their growth. Baby's teeth buds are sprouting up beneath the gum line. Tiny eyelashes and eyebrows are becoming present. I really hope our baby has John's long, curly eyelashes, not mine, or we'll both be using Latisse ASAP!
